Port Continues Progress

Below is a list of ongoing or completed projects: 

  • $1 million 32 slip recreational marina is complete & operational, funded from local millage 
  • Future plans for additional 27 boat slips, seeking funding of $1.2 million 
  • $1 million elevation project for retail/grocery market complex on Louisiana Highway 14 is in progress. Requests for Proposals have been issued to area retailers and developers.
  • Approximately $500k road repaving project for streets leading to port facilities complete 
  • $4 million Fisheries project complex is underway, features dual boat launch, commercial vessel docking piers, seafood/farmers’ market pavilion, vehicle parking, fishing pier. Below is the overall site plan for the project.

  • $80k Seafood/Farmers’ Market funded by USDA. The Market is under development, opening to be determined, permanent location will depent upon completion of Fisheries pavilion. Market manager hired, marketing plan completed, business plan being drafted. 
  • $1 million grant awarded by Blue Cross Blue Shield for Healthy Eating, $536k applies directly to Delcambre Seafood/Farmers’ Market. Funding will supplement $80k USDA grant above. 

  • $75k outdoor pavilion in Erath City Park for an Erath farmers market and for outdoor functions is complete.

  • Future plans at the Fisheries site for RV park, bait shop, dry dock boat storage, funding amount undetermined 

  • $250k marina building/port office and meeting room, design and plans being developed 

  • $500,000 application in progress through the BP Tourism and Seafood Marketing Grant for extensive marketing and promotion of the Delcambre community 

  • Seeking funding for Waterfront Master Plan, approx. $350k, meeting with Center for Planning Excellence scheduled in September 2012
