Where is the port located?

The Twin Parish Port District is located equally between Iberia and Vermilion Parish, Louisiana from Airport Road in Vermilion to Bayou Petite Anse in Iberia and from US Hwy 90 to Vermilion Bay.

 

What facilities and services does the Port provide?

The Twin Parish Port District is a small, community oriented port aligned with the shrimping industry, recreational boating, tourism, and the energy industry.

It’s signature program features fresh shrimp sales directly from the fishermen. Customers visit Delcambre Direct Seafood to find out when and where shrimp boats are selling their catch.

What is the Port’s source of revenue?

In 2009, voters in the Port’s district approved a 5 mill property tax to fund economic and community development projects as well as provide for the Port’s general fund.

In constructing and completing projects, the Port seeks to make those projects self-sufficient.

What Services Does the Port Provide ?

The Port operates several facilities and is expanding. It leases a fabrication yard to Bagwell Energy providing jobs for the local economy. It operates a recreational marina for a monthly or annual fee. It permits local shrimpers to sell their catch at two commercial docks. It operates a public boat launch and pavilion. It operates the Delcambre Seafood and Farmers Market at Bayou Carlin Cove Boat Launch and Pavilion. The market is held the first Saturday of the month from March to December.
